The NYC Board of Education does not have academic salary lines for department heads, department chairs or master teachers. Instead, they have a hiring practice found nowhere else of appointing fiscal administrator commissioned officers called AP Supervision, colloquially Supervisors,to audit department spendin practices and to secure academic property in individual academic high school departments. THE DOE has FORMALLY decided what these supervisors do for most of their working day, which is the basis of a litigatible situation. They are paid on AP salary lines as commissioned officer fiscal executors while ordered by the DOE to function as non-commissioned military drill instructors "barking" both beginning teachers and teachers who are a few days forom their scheduled retirement dates through a never ending series of military basic training. Even if they are called Supervisors or AP Supervision, and even when they are explaining to teachers the curriculum which the Principal has set, the fact is that the DOE has formally rules that an AP Supervision gets paid and is considered to do an excellent job when he or she makes teachers cry and when he or she enters a subject class already in session for the sole purpose of verbally abusing the teacher in the presence of students. How exactly does this description match the misleading title of AP Supervision or colloquially "Supervisor"?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21978939.post-32798092347219801902010-05-21T06:19:44.874-04:002010-05-21T06:19:44.874-04:00If this is not a documented hostile work environme...If this is not a documented hostile work environment what is? Do employees have the right to refuse such a decision? Can the teachers at Bronx Science who made the complaint now have the option to take the matter to a state court? Has the teachers union followed up on this matter?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
